Jack & Jones' bold mission
Following its inception into the Australian market, Danish menswear label Jack & Jones has announced new commitments to sustainable manufacturing.
The brand will aim for 50% of the cotton used in its denim to come from sustainable sources by 2018.
It is also trialling reuse and recycling initiatives in a bid to cut down waste created by the garment industry.
Jack & Jones incorporated a range of changes to its manufacturing processes in 2011 geared towards establishing itself as an environmentally conscious brand.
This includes the use of laser technology to create a worn-in look and natural ozone gas to achieve fade out as opposed to the traditional method using water.
The brand reportedly saved 55 million litres of water and five million kilowatts of energy by 2014 as a result of introducing the innovations.
Jack & Jones is now available to purchase at its Australian stockists including Myer and The Iconic.
