Department store chain Harris Scarfe is set to launch its first Sydney store in Top Ryde City this week, committing to further plans to continue growth throughout Australia.
The business already has a presence in NSW through its homewares and manchester stores.
However, this will be the first full concept store which will also include apparel.
The 2800 square metre store, the 15th in NSW and 63rd nationally, will create over 25 new retail roles within the local area.
Apparel will range across a variety of brands, with clothing lines from UK department store Debenhams and an exclusive diffusion line from New York designer Vera Wang, Simply Vera Vera Wang, available exclusively in-store.
Harris Scarfe CEO Graham Dean said the company is confident in its decision to enter the Sydney market based upon strong online sales within NSW.
“We have been in the Sydney market for over ten years with our HOME stores. We now have the opportunity to capture the developing apparel market of the Sydney customer.
"Our online purchases are strong in New South Wales, and we are confident that our full concept our bricks and mortar store in Top Ryde will not only accommodate those customers, but and attract new ones.
"Our stores stock more than 50 credible national and international brands that are affordable for the everyday Australian."
The Top Ryde City store will open July 22.
