Department store Myer has appointed Isobel McNally to its newly formed general manager of merchandise – beauty role.
McNally has served as the GM of merchandise at beauty retailer Mecca, where she scaled the ladder over the last six years. Prior to that, she worked at Coles for seven years, where she initially began her retail career as a category manager.
Myer chief merchandise officer Belinda Slifkas said McNally’s appointment is an important step as the retailer continues to focus on its beauty transformation.
This follows recent major updates for the department store’s beauty category, which recently included the addition of four new high-end skincare brands – La Mer, Swiss Perfection and Guerlain will roll into stores following the recent inclusion of avant-garde brand Helena Rubinstein.
In late December 2025, Myer reportedly added 1,731 new SKUs to its beauty department. And earlier this year, Myer secured an exclusive deal with MAC Cosmetics.
In FY25, the beauty space made up 22 per cent of Myer’s department store sales, according to its annual report for that financial year. Total sales here hit $3.3 billion.
Beauty was one of two categories that grew sales in FY25, up 0.8 per cent, behind a surge in home sales of 7.4 per cent. All clothing categories had reported sales slips in the last financial year, led by kids (down 1.7 per cent), womenswear (down 1 per cent) and menswear (down 0.1 per cent).
“We are thrilled to welcome Isobel to Myer as we continue to elevate and expand our beauty offering,” Slifkas said.
“Isobel is an exceptional leader with a strong track record in driving category growth and building meaningful brand partnerships.
“She has an extensive background in brand curation, category leadership and supplier partnerships, along with a strong understanding across prestige, luxury and emerging beauty segments.
“Her depth of experience, commercial acumen and customer‑first mindset make her an outstanding addition to our Merchandise leadership team.”
Isobel McNally shared her enthusiasm for joining Myer and leading its continued focus on beauty.
“I am thrilled to be joining Myer as General Manager of Beauty,” she said. “Myer is an iconic brand that holds a deep and enduring place in the hearts of Australians, and I feel privileged to be part of its next chapter.”
“I’m excited to play a role in accelerating its transformation, and I look forward to working with the team to elevate the beauty experience for customers.”
