The Council of Textile and Fashion Industries of Australia (TFIA) has undergone another round of staff blood letting.

An email to industry members today revealed four redundancies were made before Christmas, including incumbent chief executive Richard Evans.

Textile & Fashion Hub strategic manager Julia Haselhorst confirmed she had also been made redundant, along with Helainie Geor and Sally Macleod.

"The turbulent fashion climate has affected the association which is relying on industry membership and contributions," Haselhorst wrote in the email.

"Hence there have been some redundancies before Christmas."

Last year, the organisation lost long-serving executives Jo Kellock and Paula Rogers.

Meanwhile, ragtrader.com.au can reveal the impending launch of a new industry organisation, Australian Fashion Chamber.

The launch is expected to be announced in March, with Vogue Australia editor-in-chief Edwina McCann reportedly backing the move.
