India Fashion Week Australia (IFWA) will return to Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium on October 30, 2022, showcasing local designers such as Vicoola, Miras and Young Designers Gallery.

Local new talent Supernova Collection Co and Kruz La Mode Fashion will make their debut at IFWA.

The multicultural fashion event will be held in the Victory Room at Marvel Stadium, bringing renowned Indian and Southwest Asian designers together with local talent.

The event is hosted by Meilleur Events, run by Bollywood actor Vishwajeet Pradhan and his wife, former fashion designer and IFWA event director Sonalika Pradhan.

Pradhan said IFWA will help connect India and Australia across the world of fashion.

“India has emerged as a hub for textiles, specialised handcrafted styles and dazzling embroidery,” Pradhan said.

“Equally, Australia has established itself for its thriving creative talents and appliqués – and what a better way to celebrate the two.

“The vision for IFWA further extends to uniting talents from both the countries, with a special focus on emerging designers and models, providing a boosting and encouraging experience for them.”

Pradhan said the event also offers networking opportunities across “both sides” of the industry.

IFWA’s program this year includes a high fashion runway show featuring international designers such as Vietnamese designer Ivan Tran, Indian designer Archana Kochhar, and India’s first transgender fashion designer Saisha Shinde.

Other events include a fashion awards ceremony overseen by a panel of judges, live music, and a ‘GenNext’ segment for emerging new brands.

IFWA will also introduce a special children’s event titled ‘Little Star Runway’ presented by Vicoola. The best child model will be awarded the opportunity to walk the international runway for the show.

The event will be televised with repeats on MTV India International feed, as well as Colors TV and Zee TV APAC in India.

There will also be a live auction on the night for IFWA’s chosen charity, The Pat Cronin Foundation.
