Fashion retailer Incu and shoe brand Salomon have joined a collaborative promotional initiative at The Galeries in Sydney CBD.
The shopping complex has partnered with Sydney-based lifestyle retailer Provider Store to create bespoke, Japanese-inspired scents based on Incu, Salomon and the major bookstore tenant Kinokuniya.
Provider Store founder Tara Bennett turned each scent into a 295ml candle, with the three candles being offered as a gift to customers who spend $300 at The Galeries in a single day.
This forms part of The Galeries Presents platform launched by the Sydney shopping centre, which brings together retailers through a curated program of collaborations and stories, designed to drive visitorship to the place.
This candle collaboration is the first expression of this new platform.
Incu’s candle blends fir needle, oak moss, cedar and sandalwood, Salomon combines pine, cedarwood, fir needle, sage, myrrh and palo santo, and the Kinokuniya candle includes hinoki, amber, macadamia, lemon and frankincense.
"Collaborating with Tara on these candles reflects the deep connection we’ve built with Provider Store over the last seven years,” Incu CEO Doug Low said. “The Galeries is where Incu first opened its doors, so bringing Tara’s special touch to our curious and discerning customers here feels like a true full-circle moment."
The collaboration extends beyond the activation, with customers able to use Provider Store’s candle refill service. Once the candle has been finished, the ceramic vessel can be cleaned and taken to Provider Store’s Surry Hills store, where, for a small refill fee, customers can select a new fragrance from the Provider scent library.
“I’ve always gravitated towards The Galeries because of its incredible mix of brands; it has a way of making you feel like you’re shopping somewhere else in the world without having to leave Sydney,” Bennett said.
“With this collaboration, we wanted to create a candle that not only reflects the essence of Provider Store, but also captures what Galeries represents: high fashion, creativity, travel, adventure, and an aspirational way of living.”
