Melbourne-based fashion label Soulan Zee has withdrawn all product with images of Hindu deity Lord Ganesha from its website.
Founder Leyla Raif reached out to www.ragtrader.com.au after a story around the garments was published yesterday.
She said the garments, which drew the ire of Hindu officials, were not intended to cause offence.
“I have since removed all items entailing the Ganesha print from my website. I had no intention to offend anyone by producing these printed garments and have now stopped production of them, all items are removed from the website.”
The garments are priced at $40 and pitched at the festivals market.
