Australian brand, From St. Xavier, has once again collaborated with The Metropolitan Museum of Art and has launched its latest handbag collection, in honour of The Costume Institute’s spring 2019 exhibition, Camp: Notes on Fashion.
The exhibition will be on display from May 9 through to September 8 at The Met Fifth Avenue in New York, and will showcase the two bags that make up the collaboration, among other brands' pieces.
Drawing on elements of irony, humour, parody, pastiche, artifice, theatricality, and exaggeration, From St. Xavier's Icons Drawstring bag features playfuil emojis, nestled between a sea of purple and blue sequins, while the Winking Eye Box clutch features cheeky winks and a bold metallic background.
Kinzu Brands CEO – the global distributor of From St Xavier – Michael Shandler, said that the collaboration with The Met is a natural fit for both brands.
"We’re thrilled to collaborate with The Metropolitan Museum for a third time and design a collection which captures the origins of the Camp theme of this year’s Met Gala, and the accompanying exhibition’s high-spirited aesthetic.
"The continued partnership with The Met is a natural fit and we couldn’t be more excited about our impending fourth collection set to launch in September."
