International footwear and fashion brands Hoka and Guess have secured their first standalone stores in New Zealand at the soon-to-be operational premium outlet shopping centre Mānawa Bay.

Luxury bag brand Michael Kors will also open its first outlet store in the country at the centre.

Construction of the 35,000 square metre Mānawa Bay centre is reportedly on track, with shop fit outs beginning in June in time for the centre to open in September.

Over 100 retail stores are set to be on offer, including popular local retailer Huffer along with sporting giant Adidas.

They are joined by further confirmed tenants including Icebreaker, Asics, Timberland, Levis, Mountain Jade, Strandbags and Novo.

Also entering Mānawa Bay are Retail Apparel Group with Johnny Bigg, Tarocash, YD and Connor, as well as Accent Group with Ugg, Dr Martens, Hype DC and Platypus Skechers and the aforementioned Hoka.

The newly signed tenants will join already signed brands such as Nike, Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger, all opening their largest outlet stores in New Zealand. Further retailers include Converse and Hurley, Bendon, Macpac and Mountain Warehouse.

Timeless Watches will also have its first store in New Zealand, while Kate Spade, Swarovski and Helly Hansen will be opening their first outlet stores in the country.

Mānawa Bay’s centre manager Linh Luong said the new complex offers a unique proposition that doesn't currently exist in the New Zealand market.

“Opening a new outlet centre in Auckland, at a similar scale to ones seen overseas, will bring more choice of brands and at discounted prices for customers,” Luong said.

The opening of Mānawa Bay is expected to provide 750 new retail and hospitality jobs, following 250 jobs during the construction phase.
