Australian designers and buyers are descending on Hong Kong en masse.
Four major industry associations are hosting two buying missions to Hong Kong Fashion Week this month.
The Textile Clothing and Footwear (TCF) Resource Centre of Western Australia, TCF Australia, TCF Global and the Belmont Business Enterprise Centre will host the missions.
The event is the largest of its kind in Asia, with the fall/winter edition taking place from January 13 to 16.
The World Boutique International Designer Showcase will run concurrently and exhibit the works of four Australian designers.
Both events are staged at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The twin fairs will present the latest trends in the fashion industry, as well as offer a platform of fashion business opportunities.
Carol Hanlon is the CEO of TCFWA, TCF Australia, TCF Global and Belmont BEC.
“Hong Kong Fashion Week is a great event for the global fashion industry to source from, and is supported by over 70+ countries and 16,000 buyers attending each season," she said.
"I had the honour of attending one of the first ever Hong Kong Fashion Weeks in 1977 as a designer of my own fashion label”.
This year’s Australian designers exhibiting at World Boutique Hong Kong will include:
· Kash O’Hara, O’Hara Designs, NSW oharadesigns.com
· Lynn Elzinga-Henry, Ayakawa, SA ayakawa.com
· Samita, Deidaa Pty Ltd, VIC deidaa.com
