Heritage department store Harris Scarfe has secured an Australian first to rock the retail market.
The South Australian-based retailer, established in 1849, has confirmed it has joined forces with iconic, world renowned designer Vera Wang to produce an exclusive collaboration.
As part of the tie-up, Wang – who is known for her modern and sensual designs – will create a collection for Harris Scarfe titled “Simply Vera – Vera Wang”, which is set to drop into stores from next month.
The range will comprise a selection of contemporary women’s fashion, accessories, bed and bath collections and home fragrance, inspired by Wang's artful prints, fabrics, textures, and feminine style
With opening price points of $59.95 for a pair of signature ballet flats to $69.95 for a knit cardigan, Harris Scarfe merchandise director Larice Lewis said the Simply Vera – Vera Wang range is all about making the Vera Wang lifestyle accessible to all Australian women.
The Simply Vera – Vera Wang bed, bath and home fragrance collection will include home basics such as bed linen, luxurious towel sets and scented candles, at prices staring from $19.95.
“We are beyond excited to bring Simply Vera – Vera Wang to Australia and to able to offer such a prestigious brand at a price all Australians can afford. Simply Vera – Vera Wang will be exclusive to Harris Scarfe in Australia and will be an ongoing collaboration,” Lewis said.
The Simply Vera – Vera Wang for Harris Scarfe collection will be available from the October 21, online at www.harrisscarfe.com.au and Harris Scarfe stores nationwide.
Vera Wang, a native New Yorker, opened her first flagship store on Manhattan’s famed Madison Avenue, in 1990. In 2005, the Council of Fashion Designers of America awarded Vera “Womenswear Designer of the Year”. 2010 marked Vera Wang’s 20th Anniversary as a brand, a celebration of two decades spent at the forefront of fashion. In 2013, Vera Wang was honoured with the Geoffery Beene Lifetime Achievement Award by the Council of Fashion Designers of America.
Harris Scarfe currently operates 50 stores nationally, across South Australia, Victoria, Tasmania, New South Wales, ACT and Queensland and employs over 2000 staff.
