Leading luxury menswear department store Harrolds has clinched an exclusive first.
The luxury retailer has confirmed it will launch Tom Ford’s first local move into the high-end sneaker market this upcoming season.
For the first collection, a high-top and a low-top sneaker will be offered, each coming in seven colours of leather and also in five velvet versions.
All sitting on white rubber outer soles, the sneakers are handmade in Italy and go through an impressively detailed production process to ensure quality and the right shape of each sneaker.
The Tom Ford sneakers will retail exclusively at Harrolds in Australia, with prices starting from $750, available from this month.
Commenting on the tie-up, Harrolds head buyer Robert Ferris said the Tom Ford sneaker collection will fill a gap in the local market.
“There is a global outcry right now for truly decadent sneakers and Australia is no exception, it hasn’t always been the case but the major fashion houses are starting to respond to the demand. The Tom Ford sneaker is one of the most luxurious sneakers we have seen to date,” he said.
“The combination of minimalist aesthetic and high fashion finish is stylish, wearable and undeniably Tom Ford, the brand's core values of craftsmanship and luxury above all else remain but are expressed in an exciting new territory.”
