Department store chain Harris Scarfe will open a store at Mackay's Caneland Central shopping centre, taking its national store count to 62.
The new store will occupy more than 2000 square metres of floor space and create 30 new retail roles within the region, which will be led by store manager Vicki Heck.
Design features will include bright open spaces, wide aisles and feature the company's wayfinding system, with specifically designed signage and product information hotspots.
The Mackay store will be the company's seventh Queensland location following the recent sixth store opening in the Rockhampton region.
Harris Scarfe CEO Graham Dean expressed his excitement for the latest store opening, stating that Queensland remains a significant market for the company.
“We have received a lot of excitement ahead of this opening, and this is a great chance for us to showcase our brands and products to the community of Mackay.
"We continue to engage with and develop the shopping experience for our customers, and we are excited to now be on that journey with the community in Mackay.”
Brands sold in the new store will include Bonds, Berlei, Triumph, Hush Puppies, Van Heusen and Simply Vera by Vera Wang.
The Mackay store will open on May 4, with the first 100 customers through the doors receiving a $20 gift card to spend in store.
