Global fashion brand H&M will release its Mugler collection in Australia on May 11.

Mugler x H&M will be ranged at the H&M Sydney Pitt Street and GPO Melbourne store, as well as online.

Mugler creative director Casey Cadwallader, who joined the house in 2018, collaborated with H&M on the apparel venture. Discussions reportedly began before founder Manfred Thierry Mugler passed away in January 2022.

The collection is designed for cross-gender styling and includes menswear and womenswear. Cadwallader has selected limited-edition archive remakes for the release, alongside contemporary designs.

“We are proud to celebrate the legacy of Manfred Thierry Mugler with this collection,” H&M creative advisor Ann-Sofie Johansson said. “We were all honoured to get to know Manfred, and it feels very special that he was involved at the initial stages together with Casey and the house of Mugler.

“Casey has done such an incredible job at paying homage to history, and to the archive, while making the collection totally contemporary.”

Cadwallader said the collection includes garments inspired by the brand's signature styling.

“The collection is a celebration of everything that defines Mugler as a house and each piece is authentic Mugler, from the bodysuits, which have become a signature of ours, to the sharp tailoring and worked denims.”

H&M has collaborated with a number of designer brands since 2004 including Balmain, Versace and Australia's P.E Nation.
