Former Kmart chief executive Guy Russo has been appointed to the Scentre Group board.
Russo is regarded as the "Kmart turnaround king", known for leading the Wesfarmers' owned department store to become one of the largest and most profitable in Australia.
He is also the chairman of fast-growing Australian restaurant chain Guzman Y Gomez and OneSky, an international charity for children living in poverty in Asia.
Scentre Group chairman Brian Schwartz AM said that the Board is thrilled to welcome Russo to the business.

"Guy will add significant skills and experience to the Board as a business leader who understands the customer, retail and retail property.
"As part of its ongoing renewal and succession planning, the Board is committed to ensuring a strong and diverse membership.
"Guy has a highly accomplished career and we welcome him as a valuable addition to the Board," he said.
Russo's appointment will come into effect from September 01 2020.
