Italian luxury brand Gucci has announced it will launch its next Australian store in Sydney Airport next year.

Opening in the airport’s newly renovated T1 International terminal, Gucci will join Burberry, Michael Kors and Tiffany & Co. as one of 13 brands opening in the luxury precinct.

The 147sqm space is set to be decked out with embellished rosewood, marble, warm polished metals and a double-height eight-metre façade.

Sydney Airport GM retail Glyn Williams said she is thrilled to welcome Gucci into the precinct’s brand stable.

“Gucci is one of the world’s most respected luxury brands and we are thrilled to announce it will call Sydney Airport home next year.

“Sydney Airport will soon boast the largest concentration of luxury retailers of any airport in Australia and we are very excited to offer our international passengers a truly exceptional shopping experience.”

The store is due to be completed in the first quarter of 2017.
