The Australian winners of five internship placements at Diane Von Furstenberg (DVF) have been revealed, with New South Wales graduates leading the pack.

The placements form part of the Fashion Future Mentor Program, an initiative which pairs young designers with domestic and international fashion icons.

Fashion Future chief executive and industry recruiter Pam Trantalles confirmed the latest graduates will intern for three months at DVF New York, with start dates spanning from mid April to mid July.

Fashion Future offers over 20 global career development experiences, spanning Balenciaga, Salvatore Ferragamo, Viktor and Rolf, Herve Leger and Tom Ford.

Queensland's Franchesa Blardony and Rosemary Blanch have been locked in to intern at DVF New York, along with Hayley Watkins from New South Wales.

Sylvia Lee, who designed evening gowns for the 2011 Miss Universe Australia, will also head over with Kaylene Milner, who has been awarded a $15,000 prize sponsored by Sydney TAFE Fashion Design Studio.

Graduate Angela Langton will also be heading to New York to complete an internship with Balenciaga, while Lisa Barbaro and Gregory Amore are currently completing interships with Viktor and Rolf.

Milner, who hopes to launch her own brand Sturm and Drang, said the experience would be invaluable for her future in the industry.

"My goal is to gain an understanding of an operating atelier; from conception, development, sampling through to production, under the guidance of seasoned professionals."
