Iconic Australian accessories label Glomesh is officially back in business from today.
The brand, launched by Hungarian immigrants Louis and Alice Kennedy in 1958, has been brought back to life by their grandson, Daniel Goldberg.
Buying back the intellectual property from its later owners, Goldberg has today relaunched the brand with a collection of luxe bags and clutches available exclusively from www.glomesh.com.
The debut collection comprises a selection of is chic and sophisticated handbags, shoulder bags, clutches and wallets in striking metallics, classic black and brown and pastel shades of nude and grey.
Made up of two components – 'Ground Floor Going Up' and 'The Way We Were' – the collection aims to combine modernity with nostalgia.
Through the 'Ground Floor Going Up' range, Glomesh launches into leather with a range of buttery soft textures and exclusively designed hardware, including a new Glomesh locking mechanism inspired by vintage elevator floor indicators.
Injections of the iconic metal mesh that became the foundation of the original brand are also weaved into the collection.
Paying tribute to its legacy, 'The Way We Were' is quintessentially Glomesh, with metal mesh bags and clutches in gold, silver and pearl that aspire to take take the wearer from day to night.
The debut spring/summer 2013 Glomesh collection will retail between $350 to $695.
