One of the world's most influential menswear empires is launching an Australian-first.

Australia will be the first market to stock the latest Ermenegildo Zegna collection, City and Nature.

The autumn/winter collection was showcased at Milan Men's Fashion Week.

It is understood Zegna himself make the decision that Australia would be the first seasonal market to stock the range.

Last year, the brand partnered with Woolmark for a special global event staged in Sydney.

It celebrated the 50th edition of the Zegna Wool Trophy Awards, with Gildo Zegna and Paolo Zegna hosting over 1000 media guests from around the world.

Australian publicists for the brand confirmed there are further "big projects" in the pipeline that directly relate to the local market.

City and Nature features pure Japanese wool, cashmeres, painted leathers and handmade prints in sportswear-inspired looks.

Ermenegildo Zegna this week showed his AW14 collection, City and Nature, at Milan Men’s Fashion Week. With a focus on contextualising fashion and responding logically to market demands, the collection was a combination of nature as progress, strength and research.

Building on the label’s spring/summer union of industry and savoir-faire, the new autumn/winter collection celebrates natural fibers, exploring and validating Zegna’spatrimonial, historical and technological identity.

Zegna merged formal with sportswear, dark tones with light and nuances to graphisms, making sporty looks elegant and defining silhouettes that seem identical yet opposite in their construction.

Showing the stylistic journey of an urban explorer, the collection featured pure Japanese wool, cashmeres, painted leathers and handmade prints.

The Australian market will make the City and Nature collection available before the rest of the globe; Zegna himself making the decision that Australia would be the first seasonal market to lead the global markets.
