General Pants raised over $100,000 for its charity partner The Black Dog Institute through November and December 2021, CEO Sacha Laing has revealed to Ragtrader.

The funds go towards the charity’s Future Proofing Study – a five-year research project involving 10,000 teenagers mapping how their mental health develops over time, what are the triggers and patterns in behaviour.

General Pants partnered with The Black Dog Institute in 2020 to support the organisation’s work in the youth mental health space.

Laing said the partnership brings the business’ internal attitudes to the forefront.

"One of the things that the Black Dog Institute talk a lot about with us, is just how passionate we are about placing the conversation of youth mental health in the forefront," he said.

"It's not something that we're uncomfortable talking about.

"We talk about it all the time internally; we talk about it all the time with our consumers. It's something that we believe in very strongly.

"Genuinely, we hope to make a difference over time and supporting the mental health of youth,” he said.

General Pants launched the 'Give It' fundraising initiative in November 2021.
