Local streetwear chain General Pants Co has reportedly signed a deal with Ksubi's new guardian.
According to media reports, the retailer has inked a distribution agreement with US-based Breakwater Investment Management to sell Ksubi items in Australia.
As previously reported on ragtrader.com.au, Breakwater Investment Management has been on the hunt for a company to manage Ksubi trade in the southern hemisphere since it assumed control of the label.
At the time, the company also said it would consider a local retail operating partner to support the reopening of select outlet locations and in the interim will continue with a strong online presence.
The below statement on the tie-up, by General Pants Co CEO Craig King, has been released to media.
“This new partnership gives the brand the best chance to fulfil its potential without any of the obstacles it may have endured recently.”
As previously reported on ragtrader.com.au, Ksubi was placed into administration last year.
Following the collapse, apparel and fashion accessories maker Bleach Group (also known as Mentmore Group) confirmed that it had secured the future of both Ksubi and street/surf brand Insight, through the timely backing of LA-based private investment firm Breakwater Investment Management, LLC.
