A multi-million dollar retail development has officially opened doors to the public today.

Adelaide's Rundle Place shopping centre has officially launched today, bringing with it a raft of fashion labels to debut in the city for the first time.

Among others, the retail development – worth approximately $385 million – will house shoe brand Vince Camuto and UK brand Ted Baker, which has expanded its Australian footprint by opening their its fourth Australian store at the complex.

Canadian labels Point Zero, Joshua Perets and La Vie en Rose have also settled at Rundle Place with the shopping precinct also their first foray into the Australian market.

Harris Scarfe, Sussan, Seduce, Pandora, Peter Jackson, Kookai, Oxford, Esprit, Jigsaw, David Lawrence, and Queenspark will round out the list of fashion retailers at the precinct which will house a total of 85 specialty outlets across four retail levels.

Commenting on their new flagship store Harris Scarfe Australia managing director Joe Barberis said the store heralds a new era for the chain.

“Harris Scarfe is delighted to be a key part of the new Rundle Place development. Harris Scarfe has been trading in Rundle Mall for nearly 100 years and this will set us up for the next 100 in a world class retail centre,” he said.

“The new Harris Scarfe store in Rundle Place will once again be the company’s flagship store, with 10,000 square metres of retail space selling quality branded homewares, manchester and fashion at value prices. Harris Scarfe is proud to be a key part of Adelaide’s foremost retail development.”

Rundle Place project leasing manager Ilona Rose added that the response from retailers in general has also been positive.

“We have had an exceptionally positive response from all the leading brand retailers. Their input has been fundamental in the direction and design of the centre. The feedback the Pacific Group has received is that they have been waiting for exactly this kind of aspirational development for some time,” she said.
