A local boutique label with ambitious expansion plans is set to soon join the likes of Sass & Bide and Gorman.
Rodeo Show, established in 2003 by owner Lisa Moore, currently operates three Sydney-based boutiques but has revealed it will now look to tackle national growth.
Moore confirmed that the brand will launch yet another Sydney store this month, on Darling Street in Balmain, and will launch into the Melbourne market with a store in Highpoint shopping centre in Victoria in mid-March.
Commenting on the move to Melbourne, Moore said the location at Highpoint would elevate the brand to the next level ahead of further growth.
“With Highpoint Victoria, we have been on a lookout for a store for the past 12 months and this great opportunity came up with the new development at Highpoint. We will be amongst brands like Sass & Bide and Gorman – with adjacencies like those we couldn’t say no.
“Our customers have been asking us to open in Victoria for as long as we have been around. We wanted to get all our systems in place before embarking interstate. With three Sydney stores, plus Balmain now, we feel we are ready to take Rodeo Show to Victoria.”
To ensure the label is well suited to the Melbourne market, Moore revealed Rodeo Show will also be adding to its existing collection to tailor its offering.
“Bearing in mind the cold Melbourne winter, we have made a special capsule of coats and luxurious knits. Long drape cardigans and textured knits will feature in this capsule to go back with our main collection,” she said.
In addition, Moore confirmed that the brand has secured a “high-profile Melbourne-based fashion blogger” to make a guest appearance at the launch of the Rodeo Show Highpoint store.
Another Sydney store is also lined up for launch in July at Greenwood Plaza, North Sydney, as the brand continues to build its retail network.
“For the moment our strategy is to grow nationally before expanding overseas,” Moore said.
“The plan is to have retail presence in all states with around 15-20 stores in three years time. Our goal is to grow commercially whilst still maintaining an aspirational element to the brand. Being 'masstige' means we are the designer for the commercial customer, and we are on track for 42 per cent growth for this FY12/13.
“We are on massive growth phase and hoping to achieve the same for the next financial year. We are currently going through an exciting expansion phase in the business and will continue on this track. I believe if you are not growing, you are dying.”
