Sporting apparel retailer Foot Locker is set to unleash a foreign concept in Australia.

The brand, which currently operates over 20 stores across Australia, has revamped its Queensland Foot Locker store as part of a national rollout to boost the brand's presence locally.

The Indooroopilly store is the first in Australia to receive a refurbishment based on the brand’s new premium fit-out, which reflects a new “easy-to-shop” merchandise display that has proved popular with customers in the United States.

To better communicate the brand’s sneaker culture, the store’s walls will now be sorted by category and by brand, with feature styles called out within. New floor fixtures and hook up sections in the wall have also been designed to allow customers to shop Foot Locker’s range of shoes, clothing and accessories with ease.

The revamp also coincides with the overall refurbishment of the Indooroopilly Shopping Centre, which made this store the “perfect choice” to be the first outfitted with the new store design, according to Foot Locker Asia Pacific marketing director Jess Dillon.

“We’re very excited to launch the new store merchandising concept at Indooroopilly today, which will make it even easier for our customers to shop our wide range of brands while being immersed in the Foot Locker fan culture,” she said.

“Foot Locker is a leader in curating athletically inspired footwear and apparel. We’re very selective and as a house of brands, we are able to select the freshest, most premium and highest performing products out there. We will be listening closely to feedback from our Indooroopilly customers about their new-look store and cannot wait to see how it changes the Foot Locker member experience for the better.”

Foot Locker has also confirmed that the Indooroopilly store revamp is part of a larger nationall rollout which will see the majority of its stores refurbished to reflect the new layout by mid-2014.
