FBI Fashion College is set to expand its premises in Glebe next month, as it gears up for a growth phase.
The college, founded in 1994, has been located in its current site since its inception, but is officially expanding its domain to include the Glebe Post Office building as of June 24.
The extension heralds a new stage of development for the institution, which will also see the introduction of the Diploma of Fashion Design, a new Fashion Business subject "Online Fashion Business" and the launch of the inaugural FBI Future Business Initiative at the new extended premises.
The FBI Future Business Initiative aims to assist both past and present FBI Students struggling with the difficulty of starting up a Fashion Business by donating a $10,000 grant. Proposals can be anything from an online boutique, to a fashion label, to a public relations agency.
The new Online subject to be included in the Diploma of Fashion Business, focuses on the growing online trend within the fashion industry. The subject will centre on establishing and sustaining your own online fashion business.
The college, whose past design students include RAFW regular Gary Bigeni, Indhra Chagoury of swimwear label We Are Handsome and eco-friendly designer Sam Elsom, stated that the launch of the Diploma of Fashion Design would also guarantee the calibre of the Fashion Designers coming out of the school remains high.
FBI will also soon celebrate its 17th year of providing flexible and part-time training and helping to place students into Fashion Positions through the FBI Careers Department.
The college changes will be celebrated at the FBI Social Event, which will be exclusive to current FBI Students. Students will also sneak a first look at the new building during the catered function.
