Oroton is set to push into the clothing category with a ready-to-wear show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia 2012.
The luxury accessory brand, which currently offers loungewear and intimate apparel options, has been announced as part of a solid lineup for the spring/summer 2012/13 collections.
Zimmermann, Toni Maticevski, Aurelio Costarella, Romance Was Born, Michael Lo Sordo, Jayson Brunsdon, Ksubi, Kirrily Johnston and Ellery will also lead the charge, as well as rising Hollywood favourite Johanna Johnson.
Newcomers will include Watson x Watson, which will show for the first time, as well as We Are Handsome, Aje, Elliot Ward Fear, Roopa Pemmaraju, Flowers for a Vagabond, Suboo, An Ode to No One and Project Runway Australia winner Dylan Cooper and alumni by Johnny.
Designers involved in the 2012 New Generation, Fashion Design Studio and Raffles emerging talent shows have yet to be announced.
As reported by ragtrader.com.au last month, organiser IMG Fashion will introduce a number of new showroom spaces, venue upgrades and presentation options for 2012.
These include studio style presentation space The Box and the return of The Tent, the largest on-site venue for designers taking part in the trade event.
Industry buyers will also have the opportunity to view collections at The Rocks Pop-Up Suites; showrooms situated within The Rocks historical precinct.
IMG Fashion global production manager Jarrad Clark said the event, which will run from April 30 to May 4, had strong support from industry this year.
"We’re extremely excited by the response from designers and brands and are looking forward to showcasing the new...collections in our world class facilities on site as well as sharing more of the city of Sydney’s wonderfully unique locations with our expanded off site program of shows and presentations."
