Fashion Week Australia organisers have announced a brand new event for Sydney.

IMG is set to launch Made Sydney Presented by Mercedes-Benz, expanding the event beyond its New York founding base.

The event, taking place next month at Carriageworks Sydney, is a melting pot of fashion, sport, music and art.

Faith Connexion will debut its first-ever fashion show and co-design a replica of famed skateboard spot Hubba Hideout.

Made Sydney will also feature a retail component called The Stores, making the collections and products of numerous brands readily available for consumers.

IMG executive Catherine Bennett said Made is seeking markets with strong local support from industry and consumers.

“Sydney has been a great home for us over the years, and we’re excited to introduce an entirely new offering for individuals interested in fashion, music and art.”

Made Sydney will kick-off with the world premiere of The High Life: Slim Aarons, a new documentary about the life and work of photographer Slim Aarons.

Made Sydney and Faith Connexion will then recreate a replica of Hubba Hideout, the recently demolished San Francisco-based skateboarding mecca for skaters in the 90s and early 2000s.

This replica will serve as the runway for the Faith Connexion show on November 12 before it opens up that day with skate hours to the public.

It will also serve as the focal point of Sydney’s first-ever Style + Skate amateur competition on November 13.

Pro-skater Corbin Harris will serve as an official ambassador for the event and judge the competition.

Presenting partner Mercedes-Benz will create various exciting activations for event guests, including Australia’s first Benz Bar hospitality pop up.

Made Sydney will take place from November 11 to 13.
