Fashion GPS, one of the industry's most trusted resources, may have met its match.

Industry tool Photo Diner has augmented its operation to rival Fashion GPS, one of the fashion set's most trusted resources for image sharing and tracking.

Photo Diner, which launched in Australia in November 2012 with an online photo management system, has revealed it will add a new sample tracking system to its services this August, which will be fully integrated with the current photo management system.

The addition, which aims to provide a “complete, streamlined and affordable range of management, tracking and reporting services”, will see Photo Diner compete with web-based platform Fashion GPS, which provides similar services.

Both operations offer organisational services that help to streamline photo sharing, logistics and enable both internal and external communication within the fashion industry.

Key target markets for both Photo Diner and Fashion GPS, include freelance publicists to large PR agencies, emerging designers, established luxury brands, bloggers, stylists and editors.

Commenting on the decision to expand its service offering, Photo Diner co-founder and director Gaby Howards said the new sample tracking system has the added advantage of no setup fees, no contracts and no hardware required.

Other features include:

  • The ability to invite your VIP media to view sample racks online;

  • Automated email reminders on outstanding items;

  • Confirmation of media receipt of samples;

  • Detailed reports;

  • Around-the-clock customer service.

Howard also hinted that the addition of the sample tracking service is just part of a more intricate growth strategy for Photo Diner.

“The Photo Diner was created to streamline photo sharing and communication between brands and the media. Having launched in Australia in November 2012 with an online photo management system, the addition of an integrated and cost-effective sample tracking solution is an obvious progression for the business,” Howard said.

“We are excited to continue developing online services for an increasingly digital industry. Sample tracking and photo management form part of a much larger plan.”
