Last week, China’s Singles Day topped new records with a $20 billion plus 24 hour period for online retail marketplace Alibaba.

This week, it’s Australia’s turn for a record day of online shopping sales as Click Frenzy takes over the internet for 24 hours.

Up to 2 million Aussie shoppers will be in the starting gates at today for the the local equivalent of Cyber Monday (US) and Singles Day.

The activation has enlisted over 300 retailers including Lorna Jane, Oroton, Peter Alexander, Levi's, Adidas, Bonds and Quiksilver with products up to 80% off.

Over 4.3 million shoppers have visited Click Frenzy online shopping events.

At 7pm, Click Frenzy will need to be ready to handle millions of shoppers simultaneously.

The first Click Frenzy event in 2012 proved so incredibly popular, the site crashed for the first four hours, but when service resumed it delivered record sales and traffic volumes for retailers.

In 2014, sales jumped 28% from the previous year, and Click Frenzy is expecting an even bigger result in 2015, providing a major boost for retailers.

All deals can be accessed at www.clickfrenzy.com.au but only from 7pm (subscribers get access 30 minutes earlier).

Click Frenzy runs from 7pm AEDT Tuesday, 17 November until 7pm AEDT Wednesday, 18 November.
