Community and industry event Fashion Palette has secured some of Australia's top designers for its latest instalment, including Jayson Brunsdon, Nicola Finetti, Arthur Galan, and Bettina Liano.
The event, a two-day fashion runway extravaganza at the revamped Carriageworks in Sydney, will showcase a selection of Australia’s best established and emerging designers on April 27 and 28.
Now in its fourth year, the annual Fashion Palette shows aim to create an opportunity for emerging and established labels to showcase their designs and connect with industry professionals consumers, media, and buyers.
Fashion Palette director Sonya Mefaddi also said the event, which precedes the highly-anticipated Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia (MBFWA), provides a unique option for designers who are not part of the official MBFWA schedule.
“This is the first fashion event in Sydney to launch spring/summer - it’s a chance for designers to showcase outside of Fashion Week – and offers consumers the opportunity to get involved in the buzz that surrounds Australian Fashion, and what is has to offer,” she said.
Fashion Palette 2012 will also kick off with a VIP launch party earlier this week, to be held at the Four Points by Sheraton Sydney in Darling Harbour.
'The Grand Tour' launch event will feature live entertainment and see 20 models pose as part of a live art installation to showcase each contributing designer’s latest designs.
Mefaddi also confirmed Fashion Palette is looking at expansion into the North American market, with a debut New York show planned within the year. The expansion will mark Fashion Palette as Australia’s first international platform launching in New York.
Other designers also showing at this year’s Fashion Palette event include Anaessia, Paolo Sebastian, Wild Pony, Baraka, Jatine, My Wild Love, Wanni, Sistar Shoes, Maple & Ray, Lauren Damelian, Provocator, Ilse Couture, KabukiU, Katelyn Aslett, Lilyhart, and Specs Addict.
