An Australian company which has achieved record revenue growth of 1,335.1 per cent over the last three years has been crowned one of the fastest growing fashion websites in the country.
Online shopping club brandsExclusive, Australia’s first by-invitation shopping club, was announced the winner of the 2012 Deloitte Technology Fast 50 last night, marking its territory as the market leader in the private shopping club segment.
The Deloitte Technology Fast 50 program, now in its twelfth year, ranks 50 of Australia’s fastest growing public and private technology companies, based on percentage revenue growth over three years (2010 to 2012).
Total revenue for this year’s Fast 50 winners was approximately $2.4 billion, up from $2.2 billion in 2011.
However, boasting the highest number of unique visitors per month and record revenue growth, in addition to topping this year’s winners’ list, brandsExclusive also topped the Leadership Awards category, which provides special recognition to winners with revenues in excess of $50 million.
The company, which has a member base of over two million people, is growing by 90,000 members per month and partners directly with leading brands to offer sales events to its members.
In addition, the platform sells products from over 800 local and international brands and has sold over 2.5 million items since its launch in May 2009.
Commenting on the win, Deloitte’s Technology Fast 50 program leader Joshua Tanchel highlighted brandsExclusive’s long-term strategic sourcing relationships and understanding of the power of social media.
“brandsExclusive was the winner of our Rising Star award last year and it’s an understatement to say they have gone from strength to strength in the past 12 months. The sectors driving the growth in this year’s Fast 50 are online, software and the infrastructure needed to support these. The convergence of disruptive, post-digital technologies is changing the ways businesses must respond to individuals’ needs and expectations. brandsExclusive is a prime example of a business that has understood and embraced these changes and profited accordingly,” he said.
“In a challenging year for retailers, they have also shown that using powerful digital technologies, embracing mobility and having a strong consumer focus can bring success.
“Particularly impressive across all of this year’s winning technology companies, is the way they have capitalised on opportunities in an environment of rapid change and disruption.”
Australian online shoe store Styletread also joined brandsExclusive to share in the lime-light, as the winner of the 2012 Rising Star award.
The Rising Star award recognises high quality and innovative companies with strong growth potential that do not qualify for the Technology Fast 50 list, either as a result of having less than three years’ existing revenue data or not meeting the new $8 million threshold requirement of the Technology Fast 50 program.
Styletread, as a footwear etailer which also has operations in New Zealand, boasts the largest range of footwear in Australia, and has developed its web-store platform on the base of a customised Magento open source platform.
Other winners in the 2012 Deloitte Technology Fast 50 awards included companies such as: Australian Renewable Fuels, Solveit Software, Kogan Technologies, and Neon Stingray, which rounded out the top five respectively, after brandsExclusive took out with first place.
