The head of Australia's only dedicated fashion trade show is optimistic of improvements in post-election sales, as the next instalment nears.

Fashion Exposed will return for the spring/summer season from February 22 - 24, 2014.

Informa Exhibitions managing director Harvey Stockbridge said the event, which will be relocated from Sydney to Melbourne, comes at a critical time for the sector.

“The expected rise in consumer confidence post-election has yet to translate into improved sales, but that improvement is just around the corner.

"Fashion Exposed has successfully positioned itself as the definitive business event for fashion retailers looking to ride the wave of an improved consumer outlook.

"Our first event of 2014 is packed full of all the information retailers will need to secure increased sales; delivered through the conference and seminar series during the three days of the show."

Initial speakers for the event include David Bush Consulting principal David Bush; TFIA CEO Richard Evans and; Specialty Fashion Group CFO Alison Henriksen.

Exhibition director Elissa Duke said product lines will also be expanded for the event, which is co-located with the Bags & Accessories and Australian Shoe Fair.

In response to retail demand, the 2014 event will also feature a wider variety of product lines including lifestyle, gifts, candles and body products.

"With many past exhibitors returning, including the Kardashian Kollection, and new Australian and international labels utilising the event to launch, it is encouraging to see that despite the current challenges the market faces, Fashion Exposed continues to deliver results to the tune of approximately $66 million per annum in sales for participating exhibitors."
