The Victorian Government is calling on designers and design businesses to take part in a trade mission.

In December 2017, it will host a delegation of Victorian design businesses to attend Hong Kong Business of Design Week (HK BoDW).

Victorian designers and design businesses are encouraged to apply for financial assistance to join the Hong Kong Design Trade Mission.

BoDW is a showcase of global design talent, brands and innovation, attracting over 120,000 attendees from around the world.

Italy is the official partner city for 2017, while Melbourne has been selected as partner city for the event in 2018.

Hong Kong Business of Design Week 2017 will take place from December 4 to 9.

The Victorian Design Trade Mission will give local designers and design-led businesses the opportunity to explore business development opportunities.

This includes showcasing products, projects and services to potential buyers, stockists, partners and media representatives from across the globe.

Delegates will take part in a program of events, meetings and activities designed to strengthen business connections and create new export opportunities.

Support of $2,000 is available for each of 25 Victorian businesses to be part of the trade mission to assist with the cost of airfares, ground transport and accommodation.

The selected companies will also receive specialist market entry training and advice from Asialink Business prior to departure.

The full program guidelines and information on how to apply are available here.
