Spring is in full bloom this August at Melbourne's GPO, which is set to be dressed in over 2000 pieces of fruit and greenery to showcase MGPO's retailer garments.
The one of a kind "Spring Orchard" installation marks the first in a series of new and interactive shopping experiences set to take place at the world class retail space.
MGPO sought the expertise of visual house Gloss Creative to put together the grand scale showcase, which includes a 30 foot vine and larger-than-life flowers cascading over the building's 19th century balcony.
The shopping district's interactive exhibition is aimed at redefining the consumer retail experience, propelling retailer fashions into a theatrical setting.
The installation centrepiece, "Cabinets of Curiosity" features a series of specimin-like glass virtines illuminating hero garments from each retailer's collection. The surrounding greenery and blooms represent the growth of GPO's blossoming designers and the new crop of collections waiting to be discovered.
This is not the first fashion initiative by the MGPO, which held it's own fashion pardades during the recent L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival showcasing the work of some of Australia's most celebrated designers.
