Fashion exporters are encouraged to put themselves forward for the 49th annual Australian Export Awards, with entries now open.
The annual program is co-ordinated by Austrade and the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and kicked off earlier this month. Each state and territory selects winners across various export categories with state winners then automatically entered in the national competition.
Among the 12 categories that fashion businesses can enter are emerging exporter, regional exporter, small business and small to medium manufacturer.
Past winners include underwear label Aussiebum which took out the small to medium manufacturer award in 2009 and 2006.
In addition to recognising and celebrating the work of successful exporters, the Australian Export Awards also aim to stimulate greater awareness of and participation in exporting.
Entries at the state level close from July 15 and details on each state's award administration can be found here: http://www.exportawards.gov.au/apply. The national awards will be handed down on December 8, 2011.
