Anthony Heraghty, the former managing director of Super Retail Group, has reportedly been offered a new leading role at Winning Group – a retail group in the whitegoods space.
Heraghty’s appointment at Winning Group comes after founder and CEO John Winning stepped down from the top job three months ago.
Winning has been involved with the company for more than 20 years, with his step down coming after private equity firm Ellerston Capital took a stake in the company.
“After more than 20 years actively involved in the business, I feel this is the right time for me personally to step back from day-to-day leadership, knowing the group is strong and exceptionally well positioned for its next chapter,” Winning told media outlets a few months ago.
This all comes nearly a year after Heraghty was sacked by Super Retail Group in September 2025 following a lengthy court battle between two former employees and the company, Heraghty himself and former board chair Sally Pitkin.
Super Retail Group is the owner of Supercheap Auto, BCF, Rebel and Macpac. The company confirmed Heraghty's termination in September 2025, noting this came after reviewing new information from Heraghty regarding his relationship with the company’s former chief human resources officer.
Super Retail Group's chief financial officer, David Burns, was appointed as interim CEO while the company undertook a search for Heraghty’s replacement. A month later, Paul Bradshaw was internally promoted to officially take the top job, moving up from his former managing director position of BCF.
