The former planner at Cotton On, Country Road Group and Scanlan Theodore, Dana Hamilton, has taken on the general manager role at Australian womenswear label The Ark Clothing Co.
Her appointment comes after the brand’s acquisition by the Hamilton family, the team behind heritage fashion label Fella Hamilton.
Dana Hamilton began her retail career at Cotton On Group as a planning administrator. After climbing the ladder, she took on the role of merchandise planner at Country Road Group. Prior to her new role at The Ark, she was head of merchandise and planning at Scanlan Theodore.
The former planner was raised in the industry by her parents, Sharon and David Hamilton, and inspired early on by her grandmother, Fella Hamilton. he steps into this role with both deep industry insight and fresh perspective.
“To be following in the footsteps of my parents and grandmother is incredibly meaningful,” Dana says. “I feel proud to carry forward that legacy with their guidance and support behind me. My focus now is on nurturing everything that makes The Ark special and evolving it for the future.”
Founded over 30 years ago, The Ark has a commitment to Australian-made garments, natural fibres, and styles for comfort and confidence. The brand sells small-run batches designed by women.
The Ark currently operates five stores across Melbourne and Adelaide – in Carlton, Canterbury, Armadale, Mornington and Hyde Park – alongside a growing online store.
A large proportion of The Ark’s garments will continue to be made in Melbourne.
