Earlier this week, Australian designer Collette Dinnigan celebrated the success of her 18th year at Paris Fashion Week.

The iconic designer, who is part of the prestigious official Paris Fashion Week schedule, presented her Spring Summer 2014 collection called “Both Sides Now”.

Dinnigan was praised for her creative work with fabrics throughout the collection, particularly her use of Woolmarks Cool Wool, showing six garments made from the material. The designer said she was intent on showing that wool is not only for winter.

“There is so much possibility working with cool wool with an endless scope with what can be done with this natural fibre,” Dinnigan said.

Dinnigan described the collection as “all about emotional contrast”; the contrast of colours, shapes, attitude, mood.

“Soft yet strong. Gentle but with confidence. Scarlett bra straps peeped through soft flowing dresses. Bright floral aplique flowers danced on light wool dresses .It is modern elegance but with a youthfulness.”

Guests who attended the show included Poppy Delevigne, international blogger Hedvig, Charlotte Stockdale, international photographer and artist Elen Von Unworth, Australian model Jessica Gomes, and Martha Ward, among others.
