Earlier this week, US-based beachwear brand Tommy Bahama continued its 20th anniversary celebrations with the launch of a flagship boutique in Sydney.

The event, held on May 15, saw doors open on a 2,700 square foot Sydney store at 340-346 George Street in Sydney’s CBD, with guests including Celebrity Apprentice’s Stephanie Rice, Jon Stevenson and Prinnie Stevens.

Guests also included Living Room Presenter and Logie Nominee Barry Du Bois, Miss Universe Australia 2012 and TV personality Renae Ayris, Miss Universe Australia 2012 contestant Sophia Flynn and Tommy Bahama’s Australasian managing director, Brian Pearce.

Entertainment throughout the night included a performance by The Voice’s Ben Hazelwood who performed songs from his new EP ‘Loveless’, with guests also treated to catering by Merivale, Lisa McGuigan Wines, C Coconut Water and Perrier Water.

The Tommy Bahama Sydney store embodies a beach house design which ties in with the brand's modern take on island resort living. Clean, simplified design elements with high impact through vaulted ceiling details, a neutral colour palette in conjunction with fresh wood tones and strong dark metal accents complete the look.

Commenting on the store launch, Tommy Bahama CEO Terry Pillow said the Sydney flagship store marks a new era for the brand.

“We are excited to open our first Sydney location at ivy, one of the most prestigious shopping areas in the world. This launch is especially significant as we celebrate 20 years in business and continue to elevate our brand internationally,” he said.

“It took us a long time to find the right space, but we are confident that this is the perfect location for us — Ivy is the epicenter of luxury, style and sophistication in the heart of Sydney.”
