The L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival (LMFF) kicked off earlier this week, with a stylish soiree at Government House.

The event saw Australia's fashion elite mingle with government officials to celebrate start the 2013 festival, with guests including L’Oreal ambassador Megan Gale, current Victorian Premier Denis Napthine and former Victorian Premier Ted Bailleau.

International model and guest Barbara Palvin was also present at the event, along with Laura Anderson and Graeme Lewsey, designer Camilla Franks, model Jessica Gomes, Magdalena Roze, and Vogue Australia editor Edwina McCann.

LMFF will run from March 18 to 24, with the week set to continue with a raft of runway shows, industry forums, workshops and installations.
