Earlier this week, Sportsgirl joined forces with the L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival (LMFF) to celebrate the finalists for the 2013 Sportsgirl National Graduate Showcase.

The Sportsgirl National Graduate Showcase, now in its fourth year, aims to foster future design talent and provide a platform for them to exhibit their work under the guidance and support of industry mentors.

The event, held at The Morrison Hotel in Sydney on Wednesday January 23, recognised the top 12 graduates selected to appear on the highly coveted L’Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival runway.

The 2013 graduate line-up includes:

Bernadette Francis – RMIT University

Cesar Chehade – RMIT University

Courtney Holm – University of Technology Sydney

Hayley Elsaesser – Queensland University of Technology

Jack Hancock – RMIT University

Kara Lui – RMIT University

Karen Yang – University of Technology Sydney

Kathleen Choo – University of Technology Sydney

Koren Wheatley – Queensland University of Technology

Monique White – Queensland University of Technology

Natasha Fagg – RMIT University

Nixi Killick – RMIT University

Commenting on the event, LMFF CEO Graeme Lewsey said the showcase would also provide Australia's budding design talent an opportunity to launch themselves in front of leading media and online via both the festival and Sportsgirl’s strong digital media channels.

“The Sportsgirl National Graduate Showcase should certainly provide our industry with the confidence that this is a very dedicated, talented and creative generation ready for the workforce that will continue to develop the Australian fashion industry,” he said.

Sportsgirl CEO Elle Roseby added that its partnership with LMFF has evolved positively, with the brand now taking on naming rights for the first time this year.

“Sportsgirl are delighted once again to be a key supporter of the L’Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival, cementing our position in the fashion industry as an active supporter of the next generation of Australian design talent,” she said.

“In light of this commitment Sportsgirl are thrilled to announce that the brand has taken on naming rights for the first time this year and are proud to present the annual Sportsgirl National Graduate Showcase”

The 2013 Sportsgirl National Graduate Showcase will be held on Saturday March 23, 7pm at Peninsula, Central Pier, Docklands.
