From bloggers and journalists to top DJs and designers, a host of revellers turned up for the launch party of the new Melbourne Converse store this week.

The American vintage inspired shop flung open its new doors on Wednesday to reveal the most diverse assortment of Converse footwear in the country.

The crowd, which included the likes of Belinda Fairbanks, Grant Smillie, Tutu, Craig Delmo and Nicholas Bolton, enjoyed a tipple and a hot dog while soaking up the rock 'n' roll heritage themed atmosphere.

Local rockers Owl Eyes' Brooke Addamo and Bleeding Knees Club, clad in scuffed Chuck Taylor Converse, provided the tunes for the night.

As well as footwear a new line of men’s and women’s apparel, including a range of  limited edition T-shirts, denim, outerwear and accessories were revealed.

Tying back to the brand’s 103-year-old American heritage, a 3.2metre by 5.2metre American flag made from 272 pairs of red, white and blue Chuck Taylor All Star shoes, welcomed party goers and can be seen through the store's front window.
