Ecco has released its new upcycled shopper bags in its Canberra and Pitt St Mall stores.
The utilitarian style shopper bags are created using upcycled leather stock from the brand's tannery in the Netherlands.
Ecco Leather Goods product director Birgit Kröger said the business wanted to utilise the remaining leather pieces in a responsible way.
"The Ecco Leather innovation labs are like Charlie’s Chocolate factory.
"There are so many incredible leathers developed there, and we want do something special, and responsible, with the unused pieces," she said.
The upcycled shopper bags form part of the ‘Ecco Tannery Series’, created to showcase the array of leather designs created within the Ecco leather business.
Available in one large size, the upcycled shopper bag is cut from raw-edge and premium leather and is available in different colourways and treatments.
The limited-edition bags are all stamped with the ‘Ecco Tannery Series 001’ brand marking and are available exclusively at the Ecco Canberra and Pitt Street Mall stores.
The bags retail for $149.95 and are available until sold out.
