Ethical Clothing Australia (ECA) has added a new brand into its fold.

Luxury newborn baby clothing and baby accessories brand Fourzero is the latest label to become ECA accredited, joining fellow ECA accredited labels including Collette Dinnigan, Cue, and Ginger & Smart.

Ethically made in Queensland, each item is individually designed by Fourzero and each garment is individually manufactured in Australia.

Commenting on the latest addition to the ECA accredited brand portfolio, ECA national manager Simon McRae said he welcomed Fourzero to the fold.

“With Fourzero, parents can now buy ethical clothing for their newborns and we are pleased to see ethical manufacturing is a core part of this Queensland based label” he said.

Fourzero CEO and designer Carolyn Chambers said it was an honour to receive the ECA award.

"I passionately believe that manufacturing Fourzero in Australia is a positive step in educating consumers whilst providing a safe and reliable product for the newborn babies and their families,” she said.

“I believe Fourzero will in time become recognised as the purist newborn brand to protect their delicate new skin after birth, we hope to plant the seed with their parents or gift giver to buy and wear locally well made ethical garments.”

Previously a neonatal intensive care and children’s nurse in UK and Switzerland, Chambers created Fourzero in 2010 after she moved to Australia.

The brand was officially launched in 2012, offering newborn clothes made from non-irritant fabrics using only quality Organic Cotton and Bamboo. The full range of clothing and accessories is available online at fourzero.com.au

ECA is a joint employer–union initiative in the Textile, Clothing and Footwear industry. It is governed by an independent and not-for-profit committee with representation from major stakeholders of the sector.

ECA assists businesses through the accreditation process and aims to ensure legal compliance to prevent the exploitation of workers throughout their Australian manufacturing supply chain.

Today, over 80 businesses are accredited witH ECA, from school wear uniform suppliers and footwear manufacturers to high end fashion labels.
