Ethical Clothing Australia (ECA) has added another apparel retailer to its fold of accredited brands.

ECA, which operates as a joint employer–union initiative in the textile, clothing and footwear industry, has confirmed that Game Clothing is now an officially accredited brand with the organisation.

Game Clothing is a Brisbane-based (QLD) family sport manufacturer which makes sport clothes for universities, sport clubs and schools, from AFL to cricket to rugby league and more.

The accreditation will see Game Clothing join a group of around 80 businesses which are already accredited with ECA, from school wear uniform suppliers and footwear manufacturers to high-end fashion labels such as Ginger & Smart.

The ECA accreditation ensures legal compliance by the businesses to prevent the exploitation of workers throughout their Australian manufacturing supply chain.

Commenting on its newest member, ECA national manager Simon McRae said the addition was another coup for the organisation.

“While most sports garments are made offshore, it is great to see an Australian family sport company committed to manufacturing locally and affirming its ethical approach by seeking accreditation,” he said.

“We are very happy to have a sport manufacturer such as Game Clothing among our accredited businesses.”

Game Clothing added that the accreditation by ECA was a logical step to take.

“Being Australian made and now accredited by Ethical Clothing Australia is at the heart of Game Clothing. We believe that by keeping the design, printing, cutting and assembly in-house, we can always guarantee delivery of high quality products on time.”
