eBay Australia is encouraging local businesses to apply for its Circular Fashion Fund, an initiative designed to support emerging businesses working to advance circular solutions in the fashion industry.
The program aims to tackle textile waste by rewarding ideas that keep clothing in use longer and reduce reliance on landfill and incineration.
According to the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, the equivalent of a truckload of clothing is burned or buried in landfill every second, underscoring the scale of the global fashion waste problem. Circular fashion seeks to address this by rethinking how garments are designed, produced, used, repaired, resold and regenerated—creating systems where clothing retains value rather than reaching a “hard stop.”
The Circular Fashion Fund will award eight finalists with grants of $50,000 each to invest directly in their circular business ideas and innovations. In addition to funding, finalists will receive targeted mentoring to support product development, marketing strategies, and industry partnerships.
One global winner may also be selected to receive a potential $300,000 investment from eBay Ventures, to be announced at a later date.
The fund is open to fashion businesses between six months and six years old based in the United States, European Union, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada and Switzerland.
Eligible applicants must demonstrate how their circular approach addresses real-world challenges while aligning with eBay’s fashion ecosystem. A clear commitment to creating long-term positive impact for both people and the planet is also required.
Applications, which can be made here, close on March 8.
