Finnish design retailer Marimekko has emerged as the latest brand that will join the refurbished Eastland Shopping Centre at the end of this month.
The launch will mark the brand's fourth store nationally and part of its growth strategy in Australia.
Marimekko country manager of Australia and New Zealand Paul Alvarez has pinpointed Melbourne a hotspot for its target consumer.
‘‘Marimekko has had a very good response in Australia since opening our first store in Sydney.
‘‘Melbourne is a widespread city and we believe there are still lots of potential customers and Marimekko lovers to be reached in the area.’’
The company reportedly intends to roll out more stores across Australia although no sites have been confirmed.
Marimekko offers a range of fashion, accessories and homewares.
The company was founded in 1951.
It currently operates two stores in Melbourne and one in Sydney CBD.
