EXCLUSIVE: Another national womenswear chain has been placed into administration, marking a dark week for fashion retail in the lead up to Easter.
Brown Sugar, trading under Brand Directions, has been placed into administration once again.
Papers filed with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission reveal Robyn-Lee Erskine from Brooke Bird & Co has been appointed administrator.
Brown Sugar, established in 1975, was first salvaged from administration in September 2011 by Brand Directions.
As reported in Ragtrader's January edition, the company has since endured a number of changes, including the resignation of its managing director David Mullen in May last year.
Brand Directions director Winfred Fan, who has previously worked as CFO of fast fashion chain Kookai, was unreachable at time of press.
Financial controller Nitin Bajaj also did not return calls from ragtrader.com.au at time of press.
