An iconic local label has joined forces with one of the world’s biggest fashion bloggers for a fresh collaboration.
Following on from its successful collaboration with Alex Perry for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia 2013, fashion footwear brand Tony Bianco has now teamed with DIY blogger Geneva Vanderzeil to develop five styles for the brand's winter collection.
The company described Vanderzeil, founder of ‘A pair & a spare’ (www.apairandasparediy.com), as an 'established ‘friend of the brand' and said the opportunity to collaborate on a range of shoes with her “could not be passed up”.
The tie-up saw Vanderzeil research, design and create a range of exclusive styles for the brand in consultation with the Tony Bianco design team over a number of months, with the finished product culminating in a feminine collection featuring fringing, lace-ups and chains.
As part of the project, Vanderzeil also worked with fellow blogger-cum-photographer Margaret Zhang from Shine By Three (www.shinebythree.com.au). The campaign shot by Margaret for the collaboration will be seen across Tony Bianco’s website, social media touch points and POS.
Commenting on the alliance with Tony Bianco, Vanderzeil said it was a perfect fit.
“It has been an absolute dream come true, to work with the team at Tony Bianco, my favourite shoe brand, on this collection. Being a shoe designer is something I dreamt of as a young girl and I've had such an amazing time being part of the process from pencil to production.
"The designs are inspired by my love of DIY as well as the classic minimalism of the French Style, and include hints of fringe, leather lacing and luxe-gold chain, perfect for the creative girl who loves to look chic and who aches to get crafty but lacks time to make her own projects.”
The ‘A pair & a spare for Tony Bianco collection is set to retail for $199.95 and is available from this week, exclusively in Tony Bianco’s boutiques at Melbourne Central, Prahran, Highpoint and Adelaide and online at www.tonybianco.com.
In addition, Vanderzeil will also present a series of DIY events to spruik the collection at Melbourne Central’s VIP Shopping Day on Thursday, May 23.
Tony Bianco was established in 1972 by Tony Bianco and is one of the most recognised footwear brands in Australia today. The brand is also a family owned and run business, based in Melbourne, and currently run by brothers Anthony and Adam Bianco.
