Department store David Jones has entered into an exclusive partnership with a local label, following its debut at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia.

In a fashion week first, David Jones has partnered exclusively with fashion brand Staple the label on a ‘Runway to Retail’ initiative. The alliance will see bespoke pieces featured in the runway show sold online by David Jones as a limited edition offer.

Five pieces by Staple the label have been hand-selected by the label's creative stylist Michelle Jank from its Fashion Week ‘Crystalline’ collection, and will be available for purchase at www.davidjones.com.au. until all pieces are sold out.

Commenting on the first-time initiative, David Jones said it was the perfect opportunity to involve the consumer in an event like Fashion Week and expose them to the exciting creativity of our young Australian designers.

“See, want shop - its all about the urgency! Being able to see limited edition pieces go from runway to retail – this is an opportunity for our customers to be treated to an exclusive one of a kind offer.

“Staple the label is an urban and innovative brand whose customer is savvy and looking for new and exciting ways to shop. We are thrilled to be collaborating digitally with them by showcasing and having available for purchase direct from the runway.”

Jank added that the five pieces selected are sure to make an impression with consumers.

“These pieces offer a sense of theatricality to a show, and their limited edition status also makes them exciting,” she said.
